Webb School of Knoxville students tackle sports broadcasting

Webb School’s athletic accomplishments have often been highlighted with stories in the local news media.

The achievements have also been followed by a younger group of media members while the events have been taking place. For several years, the school has been operating a student-run club that oversees its W.O.W. Network, or “Webb on the Web.”

At Webb football and basketball games and occasionally at other sporting contests, several students have been on hand to broadcast the games online and provide other event communication.

They may be young, but their product is being complimented for its professional quality.  

“The great thing about the club is that it is student driven,” said Doug Bright, who works as the faculty coordinator. “I just sit in the background and coordinate and facilitate.”
