No less than 104 radio spots and campaigns have made it to the finals of the 2018 Radio Mercury Awards, which honor outstanding radio created by advertising agencies, production companies, radio stations and students.
The 2018 finalists incorporate a wide range of small to large advertising agencies and radio stations, as well as national and regional advertisers from the automotive, consumer packaged goods, entertainment, financial services, insurance, travel & tourism, telecommunications, and quick-serve restaurant categories. Entries were judged on their creativity, originality and effective communication of a brand’s message.
“’Sound Makes the Story’ is our overarching theme, and I am thrilled to see this year’s slate of spots and campaigns delivered,” said Sean Bryan, co-chief creative officer, McCann NY, and chief judge for the 2018 Radio Mercury Awards. “We saw great diversity and depth with the entries that made it to the final round.”
“The Radio Mercury Awards sets the bar for an exceptional level of creative excellence,” noted Erica Farber, president and CEO of the Radio Advertising Bureau (RAB). “It continues to be the most important showcase highlighting innovative and forward thinking radio executions.”
