KNOXVILLE, TN – Raycom Media’s WTNZ-TV FOX 43 and Cumulus Media’s WNML-FM The Sports Animal are announcing the launch of “Tennessee Sports Night”, a new local 7 p.m. sports talk show that will be simulcast live on both radio and television stations. The half-hour program will air Monday-Friday and offer East Tennesseans analysis of the day’s biggest sports stories, guest appearances from Tennessee sports’ insiders, and up-to-the-minute previews of that night’s most important games. The weeknight show will debut Monday, August 6 at 7pm.
“We’re excited to bring this incredibly local, relevant programming to East Tennessee on a nightly basis.” said Bryce Caldwell, Raycom Media Knoxville’s Vice President and General Manager. “Tennessee Sports Night will be the perfect complement to an already extensive list of high profile sports airing on FOX 43 and the eventual lead-in program to NFL Thursday Night Football and MLB’s World Series. And with their obvious commitment to East Tennessee sports, WNML-FM is an ideal partner for this project.”
Cumulus Media Knoxville Vice President and Market Manager, Ken Salyer said, “The opportunity to extend the WNML-FM Sports Animal brand in a partnership with the station for Thursday Night NFL games, The World Series, and the US Open was something far too attractive to pass up. FOX 43’s dedication to increase coverage of sports stories important to East Tennesseans partners with our own vision is a perfect fit. We’re excited to get it started!”
“Tennessee Sports Night” will be co-produced by both stations from the WNML studio and hosted by a rotating mix of different WNML-FM hosts including Heather Harrington, Tyler Ivens, Erik Ainge, Brian Rice, Josh Ward, Will West, Jimmy Hyams, John Wilkerson, Vince Ferrara, Eric Cain, Joel Silverberg and Brian Akins.
