The Fan Experience department within University of Tennessee athletics has its marketing down to a “T,” or should we say large “T.”
A giant orange Power T that looks like it could have come off of Paul Bunyan’s helmet if he had been a Vol football player has stood as a unique billboard along Interstate 40 in West Knoxville since late September.
It is so large that even locals used to being exposed regularly to the Power T and various other orange UT symbols have been doing double takes as they pass it.
“When we were installing the billboard, we could see people reacting to it,” said Ben Eaton, the sales manager with Lamar Advertising, which contracted with the UT athletics department to install the unique sign. “People were taking photos.”
